Founded in 1987, SMD is a family owned company with a heritage almost as colourful as its home county of Lancashire. The company was initially started by Salvador Monllor Domenech (SMD) who left the running of the business to Jason Kenworthy on his return to Spain in 1999. In 2013 Jason launched the ILIV brand, which over the past 10 years has become the UK’s fastest growing premium interior fabric brand.

WHY BRITISH WOOL?

As a British brand based in Lancashire, we’re really proud to be a part of the British Wool Scheme. Having developed our products Kelso and Harlow with a local mill, just over the border in Yorkshire, it’s incredibly special to be able to use British wool to design and produce a sustainably sourced, high-performance fabric.

At ILIV, we’re always striving to create sustainable products so it’s really important that we reduce our carbon footprint, work with local suppliers and use British produced yarns to create beautiful fabrics.
